A Grasshopper fell asleep on my Laptop…

Ok, so it’s like just another one of those late Saturday nights. I’ve had a long and tiring week at work and just wanted to unwind and relax. So what do I do, take my laptop out and start preparing for the big presentation on Monday. It’s about 2330Hrs now (for all you losers who don’t understand the 24Hour time format, that’s 11:30pm). I am fully engrossed in trying to formulate a respectable approach to the presentation and a flow as I have somehow managed to come up with a pretty decent ending up to now. I hit one of those ‘flow’ moments and end up typing something which I might be able to fine tune and use.

All of a sudden I stop writing and take my eyes off the screen for a moment when I notice that there is this Green Colored grasshopper (so I thought) sitting on the narrow ledge of my laptop screen. (upon doing some instant research on Grasshoppers on the internet I found that actually this Green Colored GH is not actually a Grasshopper but a Cricket!!! Apparently Grasshoppers are usually Yellow or Brown) But I want it to be a GH so I shall continue to refer to this Cricket (who is a completely different species to the Grasshopper) as GH. So, I am fascinated firstly at the fact that it is so comfortable on the ledge with it’s 6 or something hands and legs and the fact that it was not disturbed by all the typing I was doing. Also I was wondering how on earth it got there without my noticing it.

In the midst of all this I also (out of the Blue) remember a friend and immediately send her a text message telling her about GH. I then remembered the amazing benefit of technology that I had at my disposal and started taking all sorts of picture of GH with the camera on my phone. I took quite a number of pics of the GH and then managed to get a few with me posing along with the GH. This was quite ironic as it was the big iifa awards night and there while there were so many people queuing up to pose and take picture with the Bollywood stars, here I was posing with a Grasshopper. (oh speaking of stars and Hoppers, I just read today that Dennis Hopper has passed away :o( Another great artist gone forever). Anyways I did my best not to make the GH aware of my predicament and made it look like I was the star and it was actually the GH who wanted to pose and take pictures with me. Anyways, after the photo shoot, I continued to observe this little green creature and realized that it was not just green and that it had Orange or light Brown on it’s feet and the top of it’s head too. And despite all the commotion that I was creating while taking all these pics the GH just remained there motionless and I think it actually fell asleep there as well. it’s a good thing none of my Cats had visited me at this time. Usually the craziest of my 3 Cats jumps on top of my table, walks all over the keyboard and keeps staring at the screen as it if advise me on what I am doing wrong and what might sound better. And if he saw Mr.GH sitting pretty on the laptop, he would definitely not hesitate to take the Hop outta’ the poor Green bastard. Thankfully, there were no feline in sight and the GH was safe to sit there as long as it liked. It even made a slight sound just now which actually convinced me that this was a Cricket. You know it was just a half a second of that ear piercing sound that Crickets make. It was a good thing that it refrained from continuing this expression of its ideas, because if it continued, I just might have eaten the bloody thing my self!!!

    • 1. Grass Hoppers are apparently not Green!!!
      2. It was cool. It didn’t even move. As if it was actually posing and waiting me for to write about it.
      3. How come I can’t see that pic after I uploaded it?
